Thanksgiving!

...emails this morning after an awesome vacation cruising the Caribbean! No more dancing waiters, no more midnight buffets, now back to the real world! Plan for today, get caught up. Plan for the rest of the week, get going on our AutoSys upgrade!

The period is closed!!!!

An important part of my job is to help coordinate our monthly financial close processing. A few years ago it was sometimes a rocky and stressful 3 to 4 days. Now everything runs much better and this close was almost as perfect as it could be, but it always feels good when it is done!

Variety is the spice of life...

... including work! One of the great things about my job administering our enterprise job scheduler is working with many teams.

Today for example, I worked with a developer on a new job to recycle his application. I deleted some old jobs no longer needed for our SAS application. I created a new file transfer job for our Tax department and worked with our ETL developer on some changes for some banking jobs to help performance.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

AutoSys Upgrade

Welcome all. I am currently in the planning stages of upgrading our AutoSys batch scheduling environment from 4.0 to the latest release, r11.
